THE MISSION OF CEMA
The Center for Environmental Management & Analysis (CEMA) at Montclair State University is located in the College of Science and Mathematics and the Dept. of Earth & Environmental Studies but provides university-wide leadership and coordination for energy and environmentally-related research and service activities. CEMA focuses its resources to address energy, air and water quality issues, solid and hazardous waste, sediment and land contamination, and coastal resource management. It has a base of researchers drawn from a wide range of academic departments at the university that specialize in: environmental business issues; environmental sustainability; waste management solutions and analysis; alternative energy systems (wind, solar, geothermal, hydro); geo-chemical and soils analysis; hydrologic modeling; geoscience and underground penetrating radar; and GIS mapping and remote sensing.
