Students: 

Discussion boards/e-mail lists for majors and alumni. Want to discuss topics in philosophy and religious studies with fellow students/alumni and with faculty? Two e-mail discussion boards have been set up for that purpose -- one for current students, another for alumni (although all students and alumni are free to participate in either list). Current Department Events

P/R CLUB  
During the Fall 2008 Semester the Philosophy and Religion Club will regularly meet in DI-430 at 4:00 p.m. on Thursdays.  Student majors or guest faculty will facilitate the discussion with brief presentations.   Highlights of Fall 2008 semester included:

October 2, 2008  "Conspiracy Theories" Dr. Kirk McDermid, Montclair State University. 

October 23, 2008 "Religious Ritual" Dr. Yasir Ibrahim, Montclair State University.

November 13, 2008 " Life after MSU: What can I do with my Philosophy or Religion Major?" Michael Gabriele, Editor, The Catholic Advocate, Dr. Dianne Traflet, Dean of Students at Immaculate Conception Seminary, Dr. Peter Savastano, Professor Religion and Sociology, Seton Hall University.  All speakers are departmental alumni.

November 20, 2008 "The Metaphysics of Time Travel: Can YOU survive the trip?" Dr. Kirk McDermid, Montclair State University.

Everyone, majors and non-majors alike, is invited.  Stop by, join us for some thoughtful conversation, tasty snacks, and general good company.  The next meeting will be devoted to planning the Spring 2009 sessions.

8:00 P.M. October 21, 2008 in  Cohen Lounge, Dickson Hall
There will be a reception at Dr. Kogan's apartment afterwards.
