New faces In IT

This event marked the rebirth of Room CO123, once a space devoted to software training.

On July 30th, MSU faculty members Susan Hussein, L.L. Jayaraman, Rich Peterson, and Susana Sotillo led an informal inquiry into the question, "Why integrate technology into the classroom?" Peter Campbell, our new Internet Specialist, moderated the discussion. 35 members of the MSU community attended the event. "This event marked the rebirth of Room CO123.  Once a space devoted to software training, CO123 is now a dedicated faculty development laboratory.

The lab, dubbed "The Room of Possibilities," features:

Digital scanners
Digital still cameras
Digital video camera
Latest web page authoring, graphics
Production, and multimedia software

Faculty members can borrow digital cameras and work with software that they may not have on their own computers.  Finally, CO123 offers the services of two full-time technology consultants who can help faculty effectively integrate technology into their classrooms.

The event was sponsored by Technology Training and Integration, a unit of Information Technology.
