Love Reese was one of a set of twins born on July 8, 1908 to John and
Blanche Reese of Kenbridge, Virginia. She was baptized by Rev.
Hubanks of Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Kenbridge.
In April 1925, 16-year old Ida relocated to Montclair, New Jersey, where she joined the St. Paul Baptist Church. She remained a faithful member of St. Paul until 1938, when she joined Union Baptist Church of Bloomfield. In 9974, Ida joined the New Calvary Baptist Church of Montclair, where she remained an active member until her death. Ida Reese married Kenbridge native, George Washington Crawley, in 1928. The couple were the proud parents of three children: George Edward, Edna, and Beatrice Crawley. As a devout Christian who served the Lord diligently and faithfully, Ida Crawley was president of the Field Workers of the Shiloh Association, president of the Sunday School, and a member of the Missionary and Usher Boards, as well as numerous other church organizations. Ida passed away on Saturday, October 6, 1984 at her residence, the Reese family home, on Madison Avenue in Montclair. She was predeceased by her husband, George, in 1948; her daughter-in-law, Marilyn "Molly" Crawley in 1977; her daughter, Beatrice Clark in 1979; and a grandson, Ralph Turner, Jr. in 1982. She is survived by one daughter, Edna Reddick; 16 grandchildren: Diane Lomax, Lawrence, Floyd, Zachary, and Thorn Turner, James, Tyrone, Edwin, Frances, Georgetta, Kathy, and Marlo Crawley, Richard, Jr., Kim, and Glenn Clark, Toni McDaniel; and a host of great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
