  1. Spoke about Bb community revisions
  2. Began discussion about the following policies. New discussion posts will be added in Bb for further discussion

A.     Bb Building Blocks – explanation about what they are. Several concerns were discussed relating to a) how long they should be tested, b) how they are evaluated, c) whether there is a rating scale to determine which building block would get first priority d) whether it is necessary to place the building block on the test server or is internal testing enough – need rubric, e) can we have multiple test servers. The current discussion board on building blocks will be updated to reflect these concerns

B.     Should we move away from ASP hosted environment and towards a locally hosted environment - concerns that were discussed included a) support, b) infrastructure, and c) savings. A new discussion post will be added.

C.     E-Reserve - concern for copyright infringement since students can access courses after the semester is over. Recommendation was made by IT to update the backend programming code to prevent all students enrolled in the FA06 semester from having access to FA06 courses. Issues related to students having access to other content besides e-reserves were discussed.

  1. Open discussion – Michael would like to discuss future teaching tools that might be of interest to faculty. A discussion post will be added in Bb for input
  2. Next meeting date – Most faculty can make the Monday meeting from 1:00 – 2:00. For those that cannot make it, we will conference call them. Next meeting tentatively set for November 20th.
